Dear Partners, Volunteers, and Community Supporters,
The Foundation for Black Heritage and Culture is proud to share the success of our very first Senior Breakfast Program held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Houston Texans YMCA on Griggs Road.
Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, partners, and community members, we were honored to serve over 125 seniors with a warm breakfast, fellowship, community resources, and meaningful engagement. The atmosphere was filled with joy, conversation, laughter, and appreciation as seniors from across the community gathered together for a morning dedicated to honoring and supporting them.
This program was created to provide more than just a meal. Our goal is to combat isolation among seniors, encourage community connection, and ensure our elders feel valued, seen, and celebrated. From the smiles in the room to the positive feedback we received, it is clear that this initiative is already making an impact.
We extend special thanks to the Houston Texans YMCA for partnering with us and helping provide a welcoming environment for our seniors. We also thank every volunteer and supporter who helped make this event possible.
Due to the overwhelming success and community response, the Senior Breakfast Program will now take place on the first Saturday of every month. We look forward to continuing to grow this initiative and serve even more seniors throughout Houston.
Together, we are building stronger communities by honoring those who paved the way before us.
Sincerely,
Richard Andrews, Founder & Executive Director
